OUTDOOR THERAPY

Outdoor therapy sessions are offered to clients wanting to be in the fresh air; rather than be in a traditional room setting and especially for those that are time limited. Outdoor therapy and coaching gives clients the opportunity to leave their air conditioned office environment and be with nature.

A walk and talk therapy session in the park

Walk and talk therapy and coaching is highly effective, goal orientated and achieves both mental and physical benefits. The sessions are solution focused, pro-active and works with current problems being experienced. It does not harbour on the past, its focus is on what you need now to change.

Having a good reason to leave the office is not the only benefit of having therapy outside. A brisk walk increases the oxygen to the brain, allowing the endorphins to kick-in, the mind to de-stress and experience clarity and focus at the same time getting fit.

You don’t have to travel to the therapist’s office. The therapist meets you at a pre-agreed location.

In rain or snow the client decides whether to have the sessions indoor or out. For many people the weather makes a difference in how they feel; and working with their therapists outdoors in cold rainy days in winter have proven for some of Vanessa's clients to overcome the “winter blues” and look forward to Monday mornings again.

You do not necessarily need to walk, but can sit on the grass or bench in the open air. All walks are however; slow to moderate as it is not an exercise session.

A walk and talk therapy session

Depending on availability, sessions can be arranged for early mornings, lunch-time and after work. Some clients benefit from mid-morning or an afternoon session between meetings especially when needing innovative and imaginative ideas.

The number of sessions and the length of session time will be agreed in advance. Outdoor therapy adheres to Vanessa's ethical practice and boundaries of her professional membership as well having your confidentiality maintained at all times.

Outdoor therapy and coaching is different, it is a professional therapeutic session where you can heal, get fit and have fun changing your life for the better.
