First Session: What you can expect from our first session is for me to clarify and understand what you are experiencing. What is going on for you and what you would like to achieve from our sessions. An assessment is taken of your past and current situation, your health and lifestyle together with the opportunity to ask any questions you may want to know, or about me. During this session we will clarify a treatment and agree to a number of sessions to achieve your desired outcome. Thereafter, we will review our progress in the coming sessions to make sure your therapy goals are on track.
-
The Number
of Sessions: You will need vary according to each person and their situation. For example,
a person with the same condition having hypnotherapy may
only need 1 to 2 sessions, others may need more. Depending on your
situation, the method of therapy you chose, I will be able
to give you an estimated number of sessions you may need. However, whichever method of therapy you chose I usually recommend 6 sessions will give you the best guideline as to whether the therapy is making the changes for you, as you will be the one experiencing the changes.
-
Length of Session: I offer 60 minutes. However, flexible lengths of sessions are
available rather than the traditional “therapy
hour”. Over twelve years of experience has shown that individuals process
at different rates; after a few sessions most people naturally settle
to a preferred session length..
-
Breakthrough Sessions: Are available for those wanting to work on a specific problem area and the lengths can vary from 3 to 5 hours.
-
The Frequency of Sessions: Varies from
one person to another depending on specific needs. Most clients come
once a week on a regular basis and I reserve a specific day
and time for you. Clients that are unable to attend on a regular
day due to work commitments the sessions are flexible to fit around
your schedule. Some come fourt-nightly and others top up as an when they need.
-
Registered Health Provider: If you have health insurance and want your fees paid by them, please contact your insurers to find out if your membership covers for Counselling & Psychological services. Your policy will vary depending on the type of policy you have. I recommend you contact your insurers for more information about the type of policy you have.
